The award takes into account a number of factors including resale value, service costs, service back-up and aftermarket accessory support, while also recognising vehicle performance based on current and previous testing over a diverse range of conditions.
The 4x4 Australia editorial team praised the Amarok for its ‘on road finesses, its large and comfortable cabin, solid ‘work’ credentials and an off-road ability that’s as good as it gets in this class.’
The ute’s multi-terrain versatility was also lauded with the Amarok automatic being the only dual-cab 4x4 ute that can ‘storm down a highway at any ‘legal’ speed and then tackle a steep off-road climb without needing to touch a button or lever. It’s that clever.’
The Amarok has won 4x4 Australia’s Best in Class award previously in 2012, as well as the magazine’s prestigious Ute of the Year award in 2011 and 2012.
