Always ready for Plan B

Always ready for Plan B

When the road stretches a little further than expected, your hybrid engine joins the drive. No planning, no panic - just the perfect on-road partnership to keep going wherever your journey leads.

Charge up, charge on

Charge up, charge on

Charging your Tayron eHybrid is as easy as charging your phone. Plug in before bed and wake up ready to roll. And when the road takes you further, fast charging stations have you covered - just enough time to stretch your legs before you're back on the road.

Plug-in hybrid technology

Discover how performance, battery placement and charging technology work together in the Tiguan and Tayron eHybrid.

Two power sources that work as one

Two power sources that work as one

The electric motor is cleverly integrated directly between the TSI petrol engine and the 6-speed DSG transmission, so both power sources drive through the same gearset. Together, they deliver up to 200kW of combined output and up to 400Nm of torque , with smooth, familiar shifting and the kind of drive you expect from a Volkswagen. A 1.5 litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine works totally in sync with the electric motor so you can move from A to B with total confidence.

Battery build and placement

Battery build and placement

A 19.7kWh lithium-ion battery delivers over 100km of electric driving for everyday trips.

Integrated into the vehicle architecture rather than added on, it helps preserve balance, stability and confident handling. Positioned low within the structure, it supports a stable centre of gravity and composed control on the road.

Clever temperature management quietly looks after the battery, helping maintain smooth, consistent performance in changing conditions.

Charge up, no dramas

Charge up, no dramas

Charge at home with up to 11kW from AC charging, or top up on the road with up to 40kW using DC fast charging. Mode 2 and Mode 3 charging cables are included, so you’re ready from the get go.

To enhance your electric range, regenerative braking captures energy as you slow down, helping extend electric driving wherever possible. It’s a system designed to help keep your day moving along, wherever it may take you.

A work of smart

Say hello to brilliant technology that turns every drive into something extraordinary. From dynamic headlights that adapt as you steer, to front ErgoActive seats that remember your perfect position.

Adaptive Chassis Control (DCC Pro)

DCC Pro lets you tailor the suspension to suit the road and your driving style. Switch between comfort and sport, or fine-tune your settings in Individual mode. Engine max. power
Measure in kilowatts (kW), the engine max power refers to the maximum amount of power that the vehicle's engine can generate. It represents the peak performance capability of the engine and indicates its ability to deliver impressive acceleration and speed.

Engine max. torque
Measured in Newton meters (Nm), is the twisting force generated by the engine that determines how effectively it can rotate the wheels of a vehicle.

Having a higher torque value within this range means the engine has more power to handle various situations. It allows for quicker acceleration, easier overtaking, and improved performance when dealing with demanding driving conditions like hills or carrying heavy loads. In simpler terms, higher torque translates to a more robust and capable driving experience, giving you the confidence and power you need on the road.
